Christmas-Christmas

Christmas-Christmas

Christmas is probably the most joyous event of the year. The wide-eyed wonderment in children's eyes is always a glorious sight to behold. Christmas is for children. And, because it is for children, as adults we carry the burden of making it a happy time. This desire can bring a lot of stress. Here are some things to do to help you get through this time and not have it be such a stressful time.

Plan your Christmas budget. Do not overspend. You do not need to buy love. You do not need to pay high interest rates on credit cards because it takes you all year long to pay back your holiday spending. Plan what you can afford to spend, and stay within that plan. Enlist help. Part of being a family is doing chores and helping each other. Teach your children the values of family, and ask them to help you with things that they can take the responsibility for so that you can have more time to manage the holiday.

Ask for more help from adults. If you are going to prepare a dinner, have people bring a dish, so you don't have a ton of cooking and dishes to do all by yourself. It's okay to ask for help. Have a hat drawing for adults. Christmas is for kids. However, we all love to exchange gifts, by having a hat drawing then each person in the hat, will buy for whom they draw a name for.
